Prenatal Consult

There are a couple of levels of support to choose from, as far as prenatal consultation and/or postpartum support. A prenatal consult is $150. That is 1-2 hours of discussing history and making a plan. Prenatal consults can be done in person, via phone, video chat, or email.

We'll work through your history, sort through risk factors, and make a plan for optimizing your success in reaching your breastfeeding goals. That will include interpretation of any labs taken as part of the process. Many people report feeling much more confident in navigating the intense initial period of establishing breastfeeding/milk supply when they have a plan in place.

People who often find a prenatal consult helpful:

• First time parents who prefer individualized preparation over a class

• Parents who have had previous challenges that they wish to prevent a subsequent time

• Parents planning to induce lactation for a child to whom they’re not giving birth

• Parents who have complex health histories or risk factors that might make breastfeeding/lactating more challenging.

Also popular is a package that includes a prenatal consult ($150) and postpartum consult ($200) for $300.

I do not take insurance directly. You can find out if insurance will cover our visit through TLN by filling out this form (most often successful for private insurance like BCBS, Cigna, UHC, etc). I can also give you paperwork to file for reimbursement if it won’t be covered directly. I accept payment through most means (cash, check, digital, credit card, HSA, etc).
